About you
We are looking for a self-starting critical thinker, who can adapt quickly, is curious and learns fast and loves the fast-paced digital world of online marketing.

You are accurate and well-organised, used to working alone as well cooperate internationally, you are service-oriented and have an international outlook, you know your contracts law and terms like GDPR, SCC’s, TCF2, DPA’s, and maybe even GMP are no secret to you and you can work with colleagues and clients alike to come to quick legal solutions. You are an excellent (legal / clause) writer in English and Dutch and you speak ideally also Spanish, German or Italian.

The role
As our Legal & Contracts Officer you will ensure that our model, existing and new contracts for our products and services stay up-to-date and are fit for purpose. That these are well-written and fully aligned to both business, compliance and risk management demands, as well as, contract and data protection and privacy requirements.

You will respond quickly and adequately to requests and you are able to formulate the best way forward, whilst working closely with the business, clients and other stakeholders.

You will ensure that awareness and knowledge of current and coming law and regulation changes is up to par and you pre-empt needed changes in an adequate way in the business, our processes and contracts.

You will drive compliance with privacy and other laws and will support the business by putting in place the right frameworks and policies and where needed colleague and client support and training.

Next to commercial, contract and privacy law, you may from time to time be asked to support in other legal processes or act as a liaison between the company and external advisors when it comes to labour law or international trade laws.

Responsibilities

Be the central first-line contact person for DQ&A in continental Europe for all legal, contract and related compliance matters,
Standardization and de-risking of (commercial) contracts through templates, maintenance, independent review of clauses, ensuring all resources required for contract creation are available, and up-to-date and compliant for each country, brand, product and service,
Ensure an efficient and effective workflow in place to ensure each contract is reviewed and agreed from a legal perspective prior to signing. Propose process and efficiency improvements for the legal workflow and contracting,
In general monitor and flag compliance / legal issues and conduct a thorough review of existing contracts for red flags and propose actions,
Increase awareness and training of client-facing colleagues in the areas of legal, risk, compliance, data protection. monitor and ensure GDPR (and related) compliance in contracts and staff. Actively update teams on legislative changes,
Proactively approach change in legislation ensuring action plans are in place,
Ensure compliance and drive de-risking the business by ensuring contracts, data protection and other agreements are up to date, complete and stored in a central repository,
Answer incoming queries from colleagues and clients regarding GDPR, e-Privacy, TCF2, CCPA, privacy shields/ SSC’s etc.,
Coordinate with other legal colleagues and collaborate globally to ensure uniformity, efficiency and further professionalisation,
Assist our support functions such as HR, Finance, and Operations in their day to day work where it comes to legal queries (including but not limited to European contract law, data protection, IP, labour contracts).

Your profile

2-5 years of relevant legal experience,
LLM / Master of Law in Commercial Law (or similar) and specialised in Contract Law,
You can demonstrate experience in:
drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, NDA’s, T&C’s, SLA’s, etc.,
actively supporting commercial teams in their contract process,
you have been part of or led successful contract negotiations with international parties.
Deep understanding of contract, privacy and data protection laws and regulations such as GDPR,
Must be Fluent in Dutch and English and preferably working knowledge in one of the following languages: German, Spanish or Italian,
